2017 COLUMBUS OHIO MARIAN CONFERENCE
DUE TO FINANCES WE ARE SORRY TO SAY WE WILL NOT HAVE OUR 2017 MARIAN CONFERENCE THIS YEAR. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE MARIAN CONFERENCE. HOPE TO HAVE ONE IN 2018 GOD WILLING. " MOTHER MARY STAR OF THE SEA"
MARIAN CONFERENCE- COLUMBUS OHIO, Conference Site: OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY 1216 SUNBURY ROAD, COLUMBUS OHIO 43219. LATIN MASS WILL BE HELD IN THE CHAPEL OF CHRIST THE KING, SANSBURY HALL.
Call Upon Mary,
Star of the Sea!
Oh, you who perceive yourself during this mortal existence to be floating on treacherous waters, at the mercy of winds and waves, rather than walking securely upon stable earth, turn not away from the light of beacon star, unless you wish to be submerged by the tempest. When the storms of temptation burst upon you, when you see yourself driven upon the rocks of tribulation: look up at the star, call upon Mary. When buffeted by the billows of pride, ambition, hatred, or jealousy: look up at the star of Mary. If troubled on account of the heinousness of your sins, confounded at the filthy state of your conscience and terrified at the thought of the awful judgment to come, you are beginning to sink into a bottomless gulf of sadness and to be swallowed up in the black abyss of despair: oh, then think of Mary! Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And so that you may the more surely obtain the assistance of her prayers, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for a guide, you shall never go astray. Whilst invoking her, you shall never lose heart. So long as she is in your mind you are safe from deception. Whilst she holds your hand you cannot stumble. Under her protection you have nothing to fear. If she walks before you, you shall never grow weary; if she shows you favor you shall certainly reach the goal.

Now in our sixth year, the Columbus Marian Conference is a lay-organized annual event that works to draw greater love and devotion to Mary, and in so doing, draw people closer to Jesus Christ and His Church.
Each year, we take great care to bring speakers to Central Ohio who present on relevant and interesting topics concerning Mary, the Mother of God, centered around a common theme. This year, our theme will be, "Mother Mary Star of the Sea ." We will examine the many ways Mother Church leads us to a fruitful and profound devotion to our Lady, and in doing so, draws us ever closer to Her Son, the Eternal King of Kings, Jesus Christ. We are proud of our adherence to the traditional teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, which we believe are not only the best antidotes to the cultural mores of the world around us, but are also the best and most effective means to come to a deeper and more complete and fruitful relationship with the Eternal King of Kings, Jesus Christ, and His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are proud of Mother Church, faithful to our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and are thankful to our local ordinary, Bishop Campbell, for allowing us to host this conference in his diocese. We work to promote a respectful, orthodox dialog on key Church teachings and make every effort to ensure that everything taught, instructed, or presented during our conference is completely in line with the teachings of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. We welcome you to take a look at our schedule, check out our fantastic speakers, and register to join us August- 5th, 6th and 7th, on the campus of Ohio Dominican University here in Columbus Ohio. More details and information will be forthcoming, so stay tuned! |
